The Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force successfully conducted a humanitarian aid mission to the Gaza Strip in Palestine on August 17, 2025, coinciding with Indonesia’s 80th anniversary of independence. This mission was a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Defense, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Alms Agency (Baznas). Two Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft took off from King Abdullah II Air Base in Amman, Jordan, at 10:37 a.m. local time. They performed an airdrop of aid supplies over Gaza before returning safely to the forward operating base at 12:25 p.m. local time. Colonel Pilot Puguh Yulianto, the Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force, stated that the mission proceeded smoothly without significant obstacles. The aid packages contained essential supplies like staple foods, ready-to-eat meals, medical equipment, blankets, and items specifically for children. President Prabowo Subianto directly ordered this mission to demonstrate Indonesia’s unwavering commitment to international humanitarian solidarity. The success of this mission on Indonesia’s independence anniversary was viewed as a moment of national pride, highlighting Indonesia’s active participation on the global stage and its contributions to global peace.
