The visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to Singapore to participate in the country’s National Day celebrations left a lasting impact on Indonesian students studying in the Lion City. Meeting President Prabowo gave them a sense of connection to their homeland, reminiscent of being back in Indonesia. Four students from the Singapore Institute of Management, Belinda, Donata, Daniel, and Ardi, had the opportunity to interact directly with the President. This encounter was more than just a casual meeting; it served as a heartfelt reminder of their national identity. Meeting their country’s leader while abroad brought a feeling of home to foreign soil. Belinda expressed how the experience made her feel closer to home, especially during Singapore’s National Day Parade and meeting Pak Prabowo. She and her peers were grateful for the chance to meet and shake hands with President Prabowo and members of the Kabinet Merah Putih who were in attendance. This rare opportunity to meet the President in person was truly memorable for the students, with some experiencing a meeting with a President for the first time in their lives.
