National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is actively promoting local employment by recruiting workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals living in extreme poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to BGN, mentioned that a minimum of 30% of the employees in each SPPG will come from underprivileged households, aligning with the President’s directive to ensure the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program contributes to job creation. Currently, there are 2,378 SPPG units in partnership with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members voluntarily participating in the program. The MBG Program has reached over 7.4 million individuals nationwide, including students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and more. In an effort to expand the program’s impact, BGN aims to launch an additional 2,401 SPPG units in the next 10 days, with a goal of serving around 15 million beneficiaries. This initiative highlights a significant push to support job creation and address nutritional needs in disadvantaged communities.
