This statement was made after a bilateral meeting between Prabowo and Lula at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília on July 9. Prabowo expressed his support for this plan, highlighting the potential for increased cooperation in trade and investment between the two countries. He emphasized the shared interests and resources of Indonesia and Brazil, pointing out the opportunities for mutual benefits. Prabowo also praised Brazil’s progress in agriculture and bioenergy, expressing Indonesia’s interest in learning from their advancements. Additionally, Prabowo appreciated Lula’s assistance in facilitating Indonesia’s technical teams’ study visits to Brazil. Apart from this meeting, Prabowo attended the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro during his visit to Brazil. President Lula is expected to visit Indonesia in October, and Prabowo mentioned plans for a special celebration in Jakarta for Lula’s 80th birthday.
