President Prabowo Subianto was warmly greeted by Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Chairperson of the Central Leadership of the Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), along with other board members during a meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on 14 January 2025. Khofifah presented the successful programmes and services implemented by Muslimat NU, which have made a direct impact on the grassroots community. President Prabowo expressed his admiration for these initiatives and stressed the importance of the organization’s extensive network in ensuring their effectiveness. In the discussion, Khofifah introduced two new initiatives, Mustika Mesem (Muslimat Combating Extreme Poverty) and Mustika Darling (Muslimat Environmental Awareness), which will be launched at the XVIII Congress of Muslimat NU. Mustika Mesem focuses on alleviating extreme poverty through simple activities like recitation, while Mustika Darling aims to promote environmental awareness through waste management efforts by Muslimat NU cadres. These programs are crucial in addressing pressing issues such as poverty and environmental sustainability. The meeting also covered the preparations for the upcoming XVIII Muslimat NU Congress scheduled from 11-16 February 2025 in Surabaya. This congress, expected to attract delegates from all over Indonesia, aims to enhance the organization’s presence and impact nationwide. The meeting concluded with Khofifah inviting President Prabowo to attend the opening ceremony of the Congress on 12 February.
